Two men – one homeless


Two men are facing charges after police alleged they were involved in stealing property from a career business.

New York State Police say they were conducting a property check in the early morning hours of February 21, 2022 when they found a vehicle in the driveway of RMS gravellocated at 290 Mott Road in Dryden.

Soldiers say inside the vehicle they found Lawrence E. Williams Jr, 38, who is homeless. The NYSP says they also found “property stolen from RMS Gravel in the vehicle.” According to the police, he was also in possession of “suspected illegal drugs”. He was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Grand Larceny 3rd degree (Class D felony)
  • 7th Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor)

He was taken to the Tompkins County Arrest and Treatment Center.

State police said their investigation also determined that Robert H. Predmore, 29, of Freeville, New York, was also “involved in the crime and two other previously reported crimes.”

Predmore was located and arrested. It is responsible for the following:

  • 3rd degree burglary (class D felony)
  • 2nd degree criminal mischief (Class D felony)
  • 3rd Degree Grand Larceny (Class E felony)
  • 7th Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class A Misdemeanor)
  • Resisting Arrest (Class A Misdemeanor)

Predmore was also brought to Tompkins County Central Charge and Processing.

the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office and the village of Dryden Police Department assisted New York State Police with arrests.

No injuries were immediately reported following the arrests.
