EXAM – With an impending baby birth just around the corner, shopping for baby products has become a nightmare of a chore for me and my partner. The vast array of choices on every imaginable necessities and conveniences makes decision paralysis a reality. And if you also care about the look and style of the item you’re looking for, that complicates the equation. We were looking for a high chair that was: sturdy, stylish, easy to clean, easy to store and adjustable. Many of the options we’ve explored so far meet some of these criteria, but not all of them, but it’s been hard to find the perfect solution to tick all the boxes. Then came the Peg Perego Siesta High Chair review and blew all of our previous picks out of the water.
What is that?
The Peg Perego Siesta High Chair is a high chair for human infants and toddlers, although I suppose you could probably fit a small dog/cat/pig in it too. It features adjustable height and recline, a padded bucket seat, removable washable tray, and folds for convenient storage. It is also Italian made and styled.
It comes in a wide variety of colors to match almost any decor, we were given the “Ambience Brown” colorway.

Design and features
At first glance, the Peg Perego Siesta High Chair simply looks like your typical, sleek high chair, but once you start digging into it, the features keep coming.
First, it folds down to a fairly compact size for easy storage. This is a welcome feature that many other models we were reviewing didn’t offer.
When unfolded, the high chair is very stable and does not wobble at all. It doesn’t look like a cheap or dangerous chair. Everything locks securely in place.
4 wheels make it easy to move and lock completely to prevent unintentional movement. The frame is made of high quality plastic with a faux wood finish on our colourway.
Above is a photo showing the tray and the locking controls (on each side of the seat). This tray is easy to remove and install, and when installed, it provides secure restraint (above the 5-point harness). Speaking of the harness, the buckles are easy to use and seem quality. A large push button in the center brings all the straps together directly on the baby’s chest/tummy.
On the back of the Peg Perego Siesta high chair is a rubber net for quick and easy storage of bottles or other items (out of the reach of small gripping hands). In the image above you can also see the 4 slots for the harness. As pictured, it’s ready for a baby, but as your child grows, you can move them to the highest position to accommodate toddlers up to 45 pounds.
The footrest can be adjusted to 3 different angles and the seat itself can recline to an almost horizontal resting position. I love that it becomes a multi-purpose device for napping, eating, etc.
Above is a photo showing the locking controls on the Peg Perego Siesta high chair, these clearly display whether the wheels are locked or unlocked. On hard surfaces the wheels are great, but on carpets they don’t slide easily, but that’s probably the case with most wheeled high chairs.
In the “STOP” (locked) position, the high chair stands securely on any flat surface.
The tray has an easily removable liner that can even go in the dishwasher. Cleaning the entire high chair is easy, all surfaces are spill resistant. The tray itself (like many baby products) feels difficult to get in and out of the chair at first, but after a few tries you’ll get the feel of it and can even do it with one hand. I thought this would be a negative in my review at first, but by the end of the review period, it was pretty easy.
The height is also very adjustable on the Peg Perego Siesta high chair, which then becomes a low chair. This flexible height is perfect for matching a toddler to a chair or even a bar-height surface.
When you fold it for storage, there are hooks for the tray so it won’t be loose. This folded compact package was an added bonus we didn’t even know we needed!
Setup and setup
Installation was as simple as pushing the 2 casters that are not permanently attached to the base and placing the tray cover on the tray. It couldn’t have been much easier.
What I like
- Elegant design
- Easy adjustments that lock firmly in place
- Possibility to change the position of the harness as the child grows
- Easy cleaning
- Seems safe and secure
What I would change
- Nothing! It really ticks all of our boxes, the only thing that could improve it would be if it had an AI-assisted robotic arm to grab all the food and toys that infants and toddlers like to throw in all directions when they are in a high chair.
For our purposes, I can’t imagine a better high chair than the Peg Perego Siesta High Chair. Maybe it exists, but those already exhausted parents whose baby hasn’t even been born yet are relieved to have had the opportunity to stumble upon that high chair. I will definitely update the review as our little monster grows!
