In a few days, London will host an antique carpet fair, the London Antique Rug & Textile Fair, and several interesting auctions hosted by the city’s leading auction houses, Christies, Bonhams and Sothebys.
The London Antique Rug & Textile Fair, now in its fourth year, will hold its opening night for guests on Thursday April 3 at 6 p.m. and will be open to the public from Friday to Sunday April 4-6. For those who cannot attend LARTA Online could be a window on the show.
After the LARTA fair, Christies will hold its special ‘Fine Oriental Rugs & Carpets’ spring carpet sale on April 8 at its premises in King Street and Bonhams and Sothebys will hold their sales of Islamic art, including rugs, on April 8. and April 9, 2014. And while you are in London, a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington to enjoy the Ardabil rug exhibit could be an opportunity for rug enthusiasts.
