Presentation of the NHL DFS: Tuesday (1/4)

As the National Hockey League continues to postpone some games due to Covid-19, it will have a much larger roster on Tuesday as eight games remain to be played. Monday was a quiet night in the league as only one game was played between the Edmonton Oilers and the New York Rangers. However, the divisional jockey is fully engaged, which means the next three months will be an absolute spectacle to watch unfold.

My goalie recommendations last Saturday went exceptionally well, with Sergei Bobrovsky (G – FLA) and Thatcher Demko (G – VAN) each allowing two goals. In comparison, their offense scored five goals to give them the extra points for a win. Mats Zuccarello (RW – MIN), MacKenzie Weegar (D – FLA) and John Tavares (C – TOR) each managed to generate an assist, but many of the hopes that I thought would establish multipoint dominance came in Check. Hopefully a larger roster will create more opportunities to add high potential players with hidden value.

Here are some of my favorite prospects to target in DFS rosters ahead of Tuesday’s eight game list.

Recommended Parts: DraftKings

DraftKings maximum salary is set at $ 50,000

Anton Lundell (C – FLA): $ 3,800
Rookie center Anton Lundell has grown rapidly for the Florida Panthers. It’s not everyday that you can add a second-line cross on one of the league’s most powerful offenses for pennies on the dollar. That’s right, Lundell is available to add to the DraftKings DFS ranges at $ 3,800, making them a high potential, high value prospect that is very cheap to acquire. Lundell has four points in his last three games leading up to Tuesday’s game against the Calgary Flames and should be able to emulate a similar outing once again. While attempting only two to three shots on goal per game, Lundell is equipped with a powerful shot and effectively navigates the attacking zone. Lundell also earns extra minutes on the Panthers’ second power play unit, giving him lucrative opportunities due to the more man advantage. Enter Lundell as a high potential, low cost player in your rosters.

Gabriel Landeskog (AG – COL): $ 6,800
29-year-old star winger Gabriel Landeskog picked up where he left off last season, burying ten goals and 18 assists despite his 11th season for the Colorado Avalanche. Landeskog scored a goal against Anaheim in his first comeback from a lower-body injury that kept him sidelined for three games before being suspended due to Covid-19 in mid-December. Landeskog has nearly 20 minutes of average time on the ice and is on the top unit in the power play. Still, he takes advantage of skating alongside Nathan MacKinnon (C – COL) and Mikko Rantanen (RW – COL) on arguably the most explosive attack in the league. The Avalanche will face veteran Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Marc-André Fleury (G – CHI), who has allowed at least three goals in his previous two starts. Landeskog is the safest high ground game on slate, as he has at least one point in every game he’s played since November 22. At $ 6,800, Landeskog is a must-see prospect in the Tuesday lineups.

Devon Toews (D – COL): $ 6,100
Devon Toews is another Colorado Avalanche player who played well and drew against Chicago, who has lost four straight games. However, the Avalanche are healthier and trending upward, going 7-2-1 in their previous ten games. The 24-year-old defenseman skates on the first line of defense and gets nearly 25 minutes of average time on the ice, remaining active in the offensive zone while collecting one or two blocked shots per game. Toews scored his fifth goal of the season in a win over Anaheim on Sunday, but he’s a savant with assists. He has four games with multiple assists in the past five weeks, which offers a vast cap for a talented defenseman surrounded by excellent staff. Toews should do well against the Blackhawks, so lock him in your lineups.

Linus Ullmark (G – BOS): $ 8,400
Boston has been the definition of inconsistent throughout the 2022 NHL season. 28-year-old goaltender Linus Ullmark is the main reason the Bruins continued to lag in the Atlantic Division playoff race as the team only scored 80 goals which is the third amount. the lowest in their division. Ullmark has eight wins in 13 starts with an average of 2.55 which is good but not elite. Based on their last six games, Ullmark has allowed just three goals in a single outing while limiting all other teams to two, securing three wins. The New Jersey Devils are on a three-game winning streak and have momentum heading into Tuesday’s game in Boston. However, Ullmark will be up to the task. He’s been a great defender of the crease lately, so pay and insert him as an anchor in your lineups. The Devils have only enjoyed another three-game winning streak this season, so it’s more than likely that that streak will end against Ullmark and the Bruins.

Recommended parts: FanDuel

FanDuel’s maximum salary is set at $ 55,000

Aleksander Barkov (C – FLA): $ 8,800
Florida is teeming with talent throughout their depth chart, but Aleksander Barkov is a remarkable player to analyze. The 26-year-old has accumulated three points in his last two games, including two goals, centering his front-row offense. Goals are the motto to pursue in DFS, and Barkov has scored 12 in just 19 games this season. He is exceptionally talented and arguably the Panthers’ best offensive player. He is sixth in total points (21) despite a dozen games less than his teammates in front of him. Calgary Flames goaltender Jacob Markstrom (G – CGY) has been good in the ranks this season but has been more vulnerable lately, allowing four goals in two of his previous three starts. Barkov is too talented and wins too many good opportunities to pivot due to his high salary. So chase goals and plug Barkov into your lineup with confidence against the Flames at home on Tuesday night.

Cam Atkinson (AD – PHI): $ 6,300
Cam Atkinson is inclined to disappear for multi-game stretches, but can unload multi-point games to counter his disappearance act. In his previous outing, the 32-year-old winger had three assists with five shots on goal, delivering a massive ceiling performance against the Los Angeles Kings. The Flyers’ next road stop will be against the Anaheim Ducks and goaltender John Gibson (G – ANA), who has been disappointing in recent games. Gibson is 0-2-2 in his last four starts, allowing at least three goals in three of those games. Atkinson skates on the Flyers’ second power play unit and gets around 20 minutes of average time on the ice, which is enough of an opportunity to be useful. He takes advantage of skating alongside Claude Giroux (C – PHI) on the first line of attack and has the most team goals (12). Atkinson is excellent value despite some associated risks. He’s not a go-to prospect, but he offers an intriguing advantage against the Ducks on Tuesday.

Zach Whitecloud (D – VGK): $ 4,800
Vegas Golden Knights defenseman, 25, Zach Whitecloud, has collected an assist in four of his last five games. Although he doesn’t gain any power-play minutes and is relegated to Vegas’ second line defensive line, his attacking talent and ability to rack up blocked shots creates a high floor. It will no doubt be difficult to get an assist or a goal against Nashville goaltender Juuse Saros (G – NSH). However, Whitecloud has overcome excellent goalies in previous games to secure an assist. Skating on the same line as Chandler Stephenson (C – VGK) and fellow defenseman Shea Theodore (D – VGK) elevates Whitecloud to other second line defensemen in the league. It is inexpensive and has attractive potential in the home on Tuesday evenings.

Andrei Vasilevskiy (G – VG): $ 8,300
The Tampa Bay Lightning are a lot like the defending champions, scoring 109 goals and sitting atop the Atlantic Division despite a three-game losing streak. Lightning main goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy is 17-5-2 as a starter with a 2.21 GAA and .925 save percentage. Those are two impressive numbers in a vacuum, but Vasilevskiy has stepped up a gear from the horrific start to the season. He just finished a four-goal game on just 21 shots against the Rangers on Monday night, so expect a big rebound against a downed Columbus Blue Jackets team on Tuesday night. Vasilevskiy is a lock in being one of the best goalies on Tuesday’s squad, so pay to acquire the talented goalkeeper.
